| COMPOSITION |
Each chewable tablet contains 100 mg of iron as Ferric hydroxide
polymaltose plus 350mcg of folic acid. |

| PROPERTIES |
FEROSE-F chewable tablets for the treatment of iron and folic acid
deficiencies of all origins during pregnancy and lactation period.
The folic acid content corresponds to the recommendation of the WHO.
Iron polymaltose, the active iron ingredient of FEROSE-F chewable
tablets is essentially non-ionic, therefore, it has the following
properties unlike ionised iron salt preparations :
- It does not give rise to irritation of the intestinal mucosa and
does not stain the teeth.
- It has palatable, non metallic taste (chocolate flavour).
- It has excellent tolerance. FEROSE-F chewable tablets can be taken
with meals as appropriate to the patient, with any beverage or medicaments. |

| INDICATIONS |
Prevention and treatment of iron and folic acid deficiencies of
all origins during pregnancy and lactation period. Dosage and Administration
: In normal cases 1 tablet daily. Tablets may be chewed or swallowed.
In order to replenish the iron depots, it is recommended to continue
the treatment for a further month after normalization of the blood
values. |

| CONTRAINDICATIONS |
- Overloading of iron in the organism (haemochromatosis, chronic
haemolysis).
- Disturbances in iron utilization (lead anemia, sidero-achrestic
anemia), thalassaemia.
- Megaloblastic anemia due to vitamin B12 deficiency. |

| PRECAUTIONS |
As with all oral iron preparations, a dark colouration of the stool
may occur which is without clinical significance. |

|
| UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS |
Occasionally GI irritation, pressure in the epigastric region, nausea,
constipation or diarrhoea may occur. Allergic reactions have been
reported rarely with folic acid. |
