QUALITY BUILT-IN NOT FORCED
High standards of quality were planned from the outset. SPIMACO selected a consortium of Roussel Uclaff (now part of Aventis) and UHDE (German Engineering Firm) as a consultant to provide process and facilities design. Plans were reviewed by the FDA to ensure full conformity from planning stage. Human intervention was reduced to the minimum through automation and closed continuous systems.

Attention to details during the design stage and careful selection of contractors produced facilities that conform to the highest CGMP standards, yet one that is very efficient to operate and maintain.

As a result, in 1995 SPIMACO was awarded King Fahad Award for the best plant in the chemical and petrochemical industries sector.

Later on year 2000 the plant was awarded the prestigious one-time King Abdulaziz award. FDA experts inspected SPIMACO Plant in 1994 together with MOH officials and praised the plant's standards and rated it as among the top 10 percent in the world.

SPIMACO GETS THE ISO 9001 CERTIFICATE
So it was not difficult for SPIMACO to be the first pharmaceutical manufacturing company to obtain the ISO 9001 Certificate in Saudi Arabia. This speaks of the quality of people, procedures and products at SPIMACO.
This amplifies the competitive edge SPIMACO possesses over other regional pharmaceutical companies.
